eldermanager
does anyone else feel like i do that common sense seems to be at a premium and noticable by its absence in most areas of life. I seem to spend a lot of my working days and private time too, doing other peoples jobs or making up for their incompetence and I'm just a tad fedup. :(
mc55
from reading some of the posts on here, it seems to be especially absent ! Nowadays peeps seem to have a phobia of thinking for themselves and taking responsibility for themselves.
eldermanager
yes i wonder if they think before they write or do any editing before they post
rubydazzler
Well I do all the time, think and edit, sometimes even after I post You'll always manage to fall foul of someone no matter how careful you are, it's all part of the 'fun' of being on forums/fora When it happens to you, just try not to take it personally. Some people who post just don't seem to have any conception that other people are real and have feelings.

Grahame
does anyone else feel like i do that common sense seems to be at a premium and noticable by its absence in most areas of life. I seem to spend a lot of my working days and private time too, doing other peoples jobs or making up for their incompetence and I'm just a tad fedup. :( Talking about doing other peoples work: this morning we were having important visitors and I had to go out and pick up all the fag ends. Why do smokers do this, there is a cigarette bin where they go for a smoke?
eldermanager
trouble is we don't get paid enough for doing our own jobs let alone other peoples. i spent ages chasing up a hospital referral for myself that was sent out in january, hadn't arrived at the orthopeadic clinic, then had to contact the doctors,on the hospital's behalf, and get them to fax it - i drew the line when the receptionist asked if i could find out the hospital fax number and let them know! Jabberwocky
Do you find that the people whoes work you do for them get all the credit for it too? That used to drive me mad at the place where i last worked.
eldermanager
what's really irked me this last week is that other professionals think only their qualifications count - and are patronising with it. and some nurses are the worst - i've got a degree and other quals. equivalent to another degree and yet sometimes i'm treated like an amateur because i'm not called nurse! Bit childish i suppose but i've got it off my chest
RichC
And policemen are getting smaller, and the new 5p pieces are too fiddly, and what do the youth of today think they look like? Good Lord! I can remember when music had words you could understand and a melody you could whistle, not this thumpa-thumpa-thumpa rubbish they listen to nowadays. I ask you.
