today our guinea pig has given birth and we have looked through the books but are still unclear as to how long we should seperate the male from the litter and female, we would appreciate any help on this matter??

Also she has given birth to 2 babies but her belly still looks very large could she give birth to more, do they normally go a long time between births or do you think thats it??

ooooooo i felt me ears burning lol!

Males and females should be kept away from each other, unless you want 100's of babies, females come back into heat within 18 hours of giving birth so I suggest if you havent already done so, remove the adult male.

2 sounds like a normal litter, if shes still straining in half an hour and theres no more babies i suggest to get her to the vet. Once the babies get to 4 weeks, males and females need seporating.

Any other queries give me a nudge :)
