holster100
I have around 8,000 items of mail to send out to legitimate recipients, all the same weight. I have to do this 2 times a year. I was initially looking into getting a franking machine, but it doesn't seem very cost effective. Does anyone else have to send out mails of this size? Any good tips on making it more efficient - I currently employ a student for a week to stick stamps on! Thanks

Thanks If they are all properly postcoded the Royal Mail or UK Mail business post will do it and they give discount according to quantity. Just put them in a sack and their machine counts and franks them. Then the student can get on with their studying.

You have to have the software, and print barcodes on each envelope etc etc. It would take up too much of my time.
peterw
Why not have the 16,000 (one year) envelopes printed with the bar code and exactly as the Post Office wants them? That’s what most insurance companies and the like do. It’s the equivalent or around 308 per week which makes the franking machine a good investment.
