jana
not the sort of course you can do at college. You need to be working somewhere where there are NVQ candiates. Then in order to get your A1, you need to take 2 NVQ candidates through their NVQ. You cannot gain A1 without having NVQ candidates to work with. SEEYAC within Sheffield Castle College do the A1 award for childcare and/or teaching assistant assessing as long as you have your NVQ 3 in the award you want to assess and are willing to assess 4 units from 2 candidates for them free of charge, after that you get £65 per unit you assess as a peripertetic assessor
ruthie~
Hi, i've just been talking about this today, what sort of job/experience do you want to relate the A1 to? the reason why i'm asking is because different training companies provide A1 assessor training for different groups. ARC for example provide A1 assessors for employees who work with people with Learning difficulties. I also believe that the sheffield college would be able to provide you with the A1 and for some of thier NVQ courses there are no fees. good luck
