XvanityX
Is the warranty with HP or the shop you bought it from?

cube
Give HP a call, their phone system is a bit of a nightmare but once you have a call reference things usually get sorted.
XvanityX
I know what you asked. I was just checking because I had a warranty with PC World and the broken hinge was covered (Laptop was gone about 6 months though), but because you have a manufacturer warranty, I'm not sure
sallonoroff
has anyone returned one to hp is it a long and painful process do you think a broken hinge is covered in warranty ? I've returned projectors to HP (Netherlands) in the past... once was very straight forward and i had the device back in about 10 days, another time it took a few weeks to sort. I've sent laptops back to Fujitsu and Samsung (both in Ireland, if i recall correctly), they were both dealt with excellently. Machines back with 7 working days, i think. As for whether it's covered.... well, they'll probably say you broke it somehow and not want to do it under warranty. If it has just broken, then tell them so. Complain that it isn't good enough. . davyboy
HI there, Has anyone had an HP laptop repaired under warranty ? did you send it to retailer or directly to HP ? how long does it take and is it a painful process ? Do you think broken hinge is under warranty - or is it damage ? Thanks This is a post I made recently As I posted 3 weeks ago my daughters laptop screen developed a vertical blue line. I went onto the HP website and e-mailed the help line. Within a few hours I got a reply with some suggestions to try and what the results meant. Outcome was the screen needed replacing. I e-mailed the uk site, got a phone call, they logged the problem, had to provide proof of purchase for warranty repair, another call told me the collection date.Collected and returned within a week. Whole process 8 days. Well done HP.
