Strix
It would seem that several areas of Sheffield (S9, S13, S25, S26, S66 & S81) are suffering water pressure problems at the moment due to electrical failure to their pumps pants If you're at work now, and live in these areas, you may want to fill a pop bottle before you go home so you can get a cup of tea when you get in - or shower at your gym before you go home
simondjuk
This is the same problem covering a huge area of Rotherham and surrounding areas too. Sounds like a water main has burst aswell.
Hels
Just come off the phone from Yorkshire Water. The Water is off totally in our area (Todwick, S26) and they have no idea how long it is going to take to get the supply back. Have been advised that if it goes late in the day with still no water to give them a call to arrange delivery. As it's gone off with no warning, i've only got enough water for one bottle for baby (good job we don't rely on bottles full-time)!
devlin
Oh hells bells I live in S26 and our bog won't flush now !!!
Hels
Sod flushing the bog - I want a cuppa! Have already thought of using the garden pond water to flush the loo if necessary. Don't suppose anyone's going out to buy some water and wants to drop me some off in Todwick (baby's asleep and I don't really want to wake him)
Hels
Sorry, just had a thought - anyone nearby still got a water supply? Fancy filling up a few empty pop bottles for me? Can collect once baby awake.
Grissom
Let's hope people read and followed the advice in the Preparing for Emergencies booklet and have a stock of water etc at home for just this type of emergency... http://www.preparingforemergencies.gov.uk/index.shtm
Hels
When I was in the other house I ALWAYS had a supply of water and usually at least a months supply of anything needed in case of a major emergency - including alternative heating/cooking facilities. However, since downsizing, moving, having a baby I have to admit it - I'm not prepared! So, Grissom, fancy sharing your reserves eh? I make a mean cuppa in exchange? Maybe I could struggle and do a version of 'let them eat cake' and call it 'let them drink wine' coz I got plenty of that in the garage

Greybeard
This is a situaion where people with combi-boilers are screwed. At least with an 'old fashioned' system there's about 20 gals in the hot tank that is OK to use provided you boil it.
