gpsy
I was driving up towards the Brook Hill Roundabout this morning in the right hand lane on Hanover way and where the right hand lane splits in to two lanes I went for the middle lane. Then some fool to the left of me tries to cut me up so I beeped and moved around him. The person in the other vehicle wound down his window and shouted across "What gives you more right to the road than me?" and I replied "This is my right of way, you cut me up, the lane splits in to two" but he didn't understand and claimed it was just three lanes. We exchanged a few more words and then continued on our way. The driver was in a Fiat Doblo with a 'medicar' sticker on the rear window and appeared to be in his late 50s or 60s. His lack of understanding of the lane system scared me, you often hear about people saying someone's too old to drive and I think this is a good case of that. He appears to be ferrying people about in his car, but he can't even get his laning right when approaching a roundabout and that's dangerous. If you see a silver Fiat Doblo with an old man driving it with Medicar on the rear of it beware, this person may not be 100% aware of his surroundings so be ready to take evasive action. Cyclone
I've been cut up several times at that point. Some people really shouldn't have a driving license.
gpsy
The worst bit is that he actually thought he was in the right and had right of way! He didn't realise my lane split in to two and that his was a seperate lane, that's the problem, he's a danger on the road and he's driving for a public service! Becky B
It does make you wonder how some people get a licence. Yet another fine example of people not being aware of their surroundings and/or thinking they are right regardless of whether they are or not! Not that I'm bitter
GazB
I got to the point where I expected it on that roundabout so if someone was at the side of me, I'd either speed up and beat them to it before they cut me up, or slow down and allow them to do it. gpsy
I have his registration, do you think it's worth complaining to medicar so they can make him more aware or at least get someone other than Mr Magoo to drive for them for the patient's safety if nothing else? Becky B
They probably won't do anything. If the control room can't even tell the drivers which department to pick a patient up from I don't imagine they'll bother telling them about a complaint! I'd report it... "duty of care" and all that..... PT
Daven
I got to the point where I expected it on that roundabout so if someone was at the side of me, I'd either speed up and beat them to it before they cut me up, or slow down and allow them to do it. Thats exactly what I do ! Times many I have been cut up by someone in the left hand lane swerving infront of me into the middle lane and every time they think it's ME thats in the wrong ! The worst incident I have seen ( but thankfully didn't involve me ) was a boy racer swerving into the middle lane from the left and the innocent driver who he cut up quite rightly sounded his horn as a warning. The boy racer then proceeded to swerve dangerously towards the other car on numerous occasions as they were heading off down the hill towards Shalesmoor. Very scary to watch! Happily, the 'boys in blue' observed the whole incident ( presumably on CCTV) and stopped the offending car further down the road. Sweet !
gpsy
At least I've made a couple of people aware of this danger then, I don't think it will be long until I see him at that bit of road with another car implanted in his sadly...
