Help! Real Player for Linux

the chmod command you posted will only make it executable, it doesn't install it...

 

you'll need to type:

 

./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin

 

to unpack it, and then probably run a few more commands to copy it to /usr or something...

 

this isn't a linux forum y'know :P if your having problems with linux you should just use the linux forums, you'll get answers quicker

tobster - this is exactly the sort of thing I was meaning on the other thread....installing some of this stuff isn't exactly intuitive. :)

 

I'd agree with Sav - RP is a pain in the arse on Windows and the only reason I have it installed in any way, shape or form is that the BBC insist on a version for some of their content. :(

 

I expect the Linux version to be equally painful!
