Savannah2
Why are you using Real Player? worse than WMP. VLC no good for you.
xafier
the chmod command you posted will only make it executable, it doesn't install it... you'll need to type: ./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin to unpack it, and then probably run a few more commands to copy it to /usr or something... this isn't a linux forum y'know if your having problems with linux you should just use the linux forums, you'll get answers quicker
cube
If you're still using ubuntu check here. You can get most of the extra's that don't come with the basic install with the apt-get command.
JoeP
tobster - this is exactly the sort of thing I was meaning on the other thread....installing some of this stuff isn't exactly intuitive. I'd agree with Sav - RP is a pain in the arse on Windows and the only reason I have it installed in any way, shape or form is that the BBC insist on a version for some of their content. I expect the Linux version to be equally painful! Good Luck!!

Have you tried Real Alternative? I use this for BBC radio broadcasts.

Savannah2
WMP Classic and the K Lite Mega codec will play virtually anything you throw it's way.
