meersbrook
*Sorry* if this has been posted or discussed before, but does anyone know when and why the Red Lion ("Mr. Q's") pub on Chesterfield road is closed? (I don't go in there myself, but seeing as plenty of people seemed to I was surprised to hear that it seems to have shut - at first I suspected it was due for a makeover (could do with one..) - but nothing seems to have changed since the lights went out some days (?) back..) Again sorry if this is a repeat / old news - did a search on the Forum but couldn't find anything on it. Cheers.
4Colour
Interesting how once a good local pub it moved to terrible onto shut. Prefer Easy Street .... err.
meersbrook
With Easy St. and now the Red Lion "gone" (or seemingly so anyway..) the question is: "Who's next?!" - the smart money would be on The Bridge Inn, surely? (not that I take any satisfaction from seeing these pubs close I might add.. with the exception of Easy St. which was, well, just not exactly great..) 4Colour
Oh I dont know theres Karjokey on Fri /Sat and instant barring for those braveenough to ask for a snake bite. Then we could move onto the Sheaf where on a hot sunny day and you arent known by the bar staff you'll stand for 20 mins waiting for a humdinger. At least Easy street didn't have the "somethings just about to kick off" atmosphere. It's the thing I dislike about living in Meersbrook the most, sh*te local pub. Oh, to be back near the porter cottage.
Guest teebee
The Red Lion "GONE" oh no, spent most of my teens and 20's drinking in that place, even when i moved out of sheffield, if me and my husband ever came back we would always call for one in the red lion.
