Military taken control of Thailand

Recommended Posts

Did a serch did not see this posted anywhere else...

"The chiefs of Thailand's army, navy and air force met with King Bhumibol Adulyadej to declare they were taking over the country, according to a televised statement early Wednesday."

Interesting, wonder how this will pan out this time.

I saw it on the BBC News earlier on.

Reminded me of the peaceful coup-de-ta in Pakistan several years back when the current incumbent Mr Musharaf, siezed power whilst the Prime Minister was out of the country.

Again, there appears to have been no violence, and certainly no protests by the public.

The next couple of days will be interesting as there was some talk of not all the army being with the coup plotters.

It will be interesting to see the response of the US Government and whether they support this coup. They supported the one in Pakistan.
