xsarx
Me and my housemates - all girls aged 24, would like to take up some JJ lessons/self defence/martial arts type stuff... could people suggest places times and prices for us please? We live in Netheredge and all work up until about 6pm through the week. Thanks, Sarah
Cyclone
My university classes start up again this weekend, there'll be lots of freshers joining the club, both male and female, you're welcome to give it a go if you like. Times are Thu 8 (evening) - 10 and Sat 10 (morning) - 12, location is the goodwin sports centre, just down from broomhill. Cost is going to be £2.50 or £3.00 for a 2 hr session (not quite decided yet, have to discuss it with the committee). Annual insurance is £20 and club membership is a fiver. You can try the first session for free, and the first fortnight without your own insurance (covered on our general policy).
BJJMAN
alternatively you can come down to Barra Sheffield on Monday or Wednesday. My gf is gonna be starting soon but wants a few girls to train with too. (she's tiny and not that strong - extremely wriggly though). Come down and try it out. Its on the tram route (Bamforth Street). If you enjoy it, carry on. If not, you've not lost out.
Cyclone
Doesn't have to be alternatively. It can be also, or at least try them both out.

xsarx
Hi everyone, Thanks for all your replies, we will certainly give your classes a try - I am all up for getting stuck in! BJJMAN where are your classes as I not sure I know where you are referring to... Thanks for your help - are there any girls out there who go to classes? What should we wear to classes? Cyclone
Just wear an old t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, don't wear loads of makeup, it just ends up rubbed off onto everyone else, and you'll have to take jewelery off, so just wear the minimum to start with. My SO trains at the club I teach, we have around 1/3rd girls normally in the class.
