56cheffy
Woke up this morning to find this 'movieland' virus on my PC, no idea how it got there as it wasn't there when I went to bed, not opened any mails with attachments either...... Ran a full system scan, which detected it but could not remove it, was directed to Symantec site where it tells me how to remove it manually by going in to the registry and deleting about 80 files...I had a look but gave up after I found only 3 of the first 10 files. I don't mind reformatting but need to know if I copy my word documents and pictures to a disc will the files be infected (I haven't got a recent backup..naughty I know) Also my music is saved in itunes, how can I save these...is it possible to get all the music loaded on ipod back on to itunes on PC....if not can I transfer them via a USB to my sons PC, or will this infect his? Should I buy an external hard drive, transfer them to this and then scan it... Not very good at PC stuff! Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Silver
you could always partition your hard drive and save them all there . then format c:\ and re install windows . Can't help you with the ipod as i don't have one .
