Ghozer
I Personally like "Traktor Studio 3", but a popular one is "PC DJ, Red, Blue, and White" and there's many more out there, you can also buy some Consoles that plug in via USB, Hercules make a range, so does Belkin, and there's various others too, these come with software, and support the MIDI protocol, so even if a program doesnt officially support the console(s) as long as it supports MIDI, you will be fine

cube
Yes Traktor is the best. Although when a track varies in tempo throughout it can be a pain!
7hills
ive used traktor and it looks and feels pretty good to most, but i cant figure our how you can auto beatmatch? i can work the speed out pre mix, but i just cant get it to beatmatch auto style, can anyone help, also what other features does it have? cube
Traktors beat match is tricky at first. You need to set a beat marker at the first clear kick drum. This put's the beat grid over the track, and then you have to tweak the bpm until the grid lays perfectly on the kicks throughout the track. Only when you have both tracks with both beat grids spot on, can you then auto sync the tracks to mix together.
steev
Has anyone used Ableton Live? I've been wanting to mess around with some music packages for a while now, & Traktor & Ableton were the 2 recommended to me. Does anyone who knows either package have any links to any decent (legit free) sample sets or learning sites?
Ghozer
I have never had a problem with traktors beat match, But I like doing it manually any way - I feel that beat matching things like that are a cheat.. but usually, I set a track, set the cue at the start, hit "Master" hit play, set the next track, set the cue at the start, click Sync, hit play, and theyer matched... thats all I do usually..
