kimmie Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 i have walked through s2 i fews times late at night on my own, to get to the tram stop, but ye keep your head down you will be ok, but really we shouldnt have to like that should we?
nick2 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 but ye keep your head down you will be ok, but really we shouldnt have to like that should we? You don't have to walk round with your head down, in fact thats the worst thing to do, you need to be, and look, alert.
Gibbo Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It was keep your head down in the sense that, if a group of kids are smashing a phone box up, you walk straight on past, and if you have to deal with it deal with it in the security of your own home!!!
nick2 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It was keep your head down in the sense that, if a group of kids are smashing a phone box up, you walk straight on past Oh, I see what you mean. I imagine most people would do that regardless of where they live.
mr.blaze Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I live in S2, it's like fairyland round here what you all moaning about?
Gibbo Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It seems to be happening a bit more frequently round me, especially with Bonfire night in the midst too. At about 5pm on Monday a group of kids were setting fireworks of around the local shops at Arbourthorne, pointing them at cars. How crazy is that!!!! To be honest where do they get their money from to buy the things!!!! Any how just make sure you don't get caught up in the stuff that goes on and you'd be fine.
lyndix Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I lived in s2 (wybourn) for 26years, my mum worked in the shop on hyde park for years & she still lives in the same house now, never had any worries about the place myself & my mum & dad have no plans to leave.
thierry Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I agree with lyndix. I grew up in S2 and never had any trouble. My parents still live there after 32 years and have never had any problems, it depends whereabouts in S2 you live. There are nicer areas but there are areas that are alot worse in Sheffield aswell. S3 and S4 for instance.
Marka Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 Thanks everyone! I finally decided to move elsewhere...
gabby Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 S2 covers such a big area, its impossible to say whether you should 'keep your head down' or not. Hyde park flats, Manor top, wybourn, arbourthorne, bits of Heeley, Norfolk Park and Lowfield/Bramall Lane/London Road area are all S2, some bits a lot dodgier than others.
