Lotti
I've noticed a lot of people tend to park up in a disabled bay with a disabled badge, no problem. But then, the able bodied person goes into the shop and the disabled one stays there... When I first noticed this I thought they could both be disabled blah blah blah but I've noticed it more and more. Whilst they do have the right to be parked there as they have a badge, if the disabled person is staying in the car, surely they should be parking in normal bays? You can't use someone else's blue badge for your own use, it has to be for the person that's disabled so surely if you're parking in a disabled bay, the disabled person should be getting out??? *Twinkle*
You've got a point there Lotti! Then a disabled person who is alone cannot get parked in a disabled bay so they have to park further out! Not on!

BobbyBunny
Actually I believe (and don't be nasty if I'm wrong, I'mnot saying this is definate) you CAN use the disabled badge yourself, as long as you are buying something for a disabled person. Never know though... Sorry if I'm wrong.
Lotti
If the person has a 'motability' car using their DLA you can use their car to run errands for them, but I don't believe you can use their badge unless they need it for access if you get me? You can also tax your own car for free if you are using it for a disabled person who receives DLA, but I don't think you can use their badge to get closer to the shop if they don't need access... medusa
Having read the rules in the book that comes with blue badges, you CANNOT use a blue badge if you're a non-disabled driver doing a service for the blue badge holder. You can only use it if you're parking to collect them personally. What you're thinking of are the rules that are in place on the usage of Motability vehicles BobbyBunny. If you're on the insurance for someone's Motability vehicle you can use it providing it's providing a service for the person who receives the DLA.
