The traffic wardens started this last season. I was late arriving to one match and saw a Sheffield City Council minibus dropping them all off. No-one will convince me that this is about keeping the roads freed up etc... it is simply an opportunity for the council to dip their bread in terms of quick bucks revenue. Nice to know those in authority are supportive of our city's sporting agenda and the contribution it makes to the local ecomony

I think it's a good thing and should have happened years ago. The morons seem to think that because it's a football match they can park anywhere and everywhere, blocking roads and junctions, destroying grass verges and generally being a Tw*ts. I used to live round there and was always stunned at the level of stupidity from people so hit them where it hurts is what I say.

Don't park illegally and you wont get a ticket ! Whats your problem ?

Never had one yet !! but I have seen people who despite being parked in Ok spots who have !! Think the council just hope that people would pay up.

Don't mean to sound rude or anything Neeeeks but don't live around a football ground if you dont want several thousand people converging on you every fortnight. Bit like the couple who have just bought the house near our local kids playground - who now come out and tell the kids off for playing on there everyday.

Don't get you. If people park illegally, they should be fined. I used to live on Lancing Road and I asked the wardens on match day if it was suddenly alright to park around junctions. They said of course not so I asked them why they weren't doing something about it then. They had no answer, of course. A football club is a private company. Would you think it alright to park illegally when going to Tesco? I don't understand why it is allowed on match days, but then again I don't understand why people would want to watch a load of overpaid ********s kicking a ball about anyway.

thats a fair point, with which i agree, but as devlin mentioned, its also people who park legally who get stung - just cos the wardens think that people will be too afraid to not pay up...

i have no problems with traffic wardens who do the job fairly and justly, but it takes the absolute !$%@ what some of em will do to score another ticket...
