Pictures of dogs available at Sheffield Council Kennels

Recommended Posts

We are putting some pictures up of the dogs available from the Sheffield council kennels. They are on http://www.rainrescue.co.uk under DOGS AT SHEFFIELD. I believe dogs can only be viewed by appointment - and not just by turning up at the kennels.

Please tell people that these dogs are available and wanting rehoming. The majority of dogs are nice homeable dogs - just maybe not had some basic training or socialisation previously - but if you are prepared to put in a bit of time and effort - many of the dogs will make great pets.

Remember whenever you or anyone you know goes to view a dog in any kennels - that the poor things are stressed out of their heads. The noise, the smells, the changes - play havoc with them - and so odds are they show a different character to the one that they will show in a home. (both good and bad).

The council has their own rehoming criteria - numbers to contact are on the web site - but remember they are always desperate for kennel space and so a dog homed from here - means another dog has a safe kennel to go into tomorrow.

Happy homings.

just thought I would up this thread

loads of lovely dogs down at the council kennels looking for homes if anyone hears of someone wanting one.

Wouldn't it be worth putting it on top so that people know how to get in touch. so many now don't know where the stray kennels are or how to get in touch - it breaks me up to think of so many being left for weeks on end in kennells.

Unfortunately there are so many deserving threads that the place would be overrun with stickies if we made every thread about lost/found animals/animals needing new homes a sticky.

We do need to let all of the relevant threads have a try at the top.
