Speaking at its European Wii press conference today, Nintendo has finally revealed that its forthcoming console will hit shelves across the territory on 8 December, priced at £179 in the UK and 249 Euros in Europe. Games will cost between £34-£39 (49-50 Euros).

yup 25,000 yen in Japan (£113.46)... $250 in america ($133.16)... both working out a LOT less than £179... I wish they wouldn't keep raping this country, were a massive market, for a tiny little island we buy shedloads of stuff due to how dense our population is... yet we end up getting raped on almost everything from abroad!

seems play.com now is taking pre-orders:

http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/GENBRW/3-/1032617/Nintendo_Wii_Console_+_Wii_Sports/Product.html

£179.99 for the console and 1 game

games seem to have dropped from £50 each to £40 each now on their site... I'd expect them to drop a little more before the 8th december knowing play.com cos they're usually pretty cheap... tempted to pre-order but I think I'll hold off and try and persuade my mum to get me one for Xmas :D

although, will be weird requesting a cute little console for Xmas at 21 lol

249 euros currently equals 167.70 pounds.

50 euros equals 33.68 pounds.

So 7% cheaper for the console in europe and 1 to 8.6% cheaper for games.

Fantastic :(

Found a Engish shop for 175 if that makes you feel better :) you can close the % down a bit if you like. :)
