Can I take my push bike on a train?

Recommended Posts

Generally yes, but if it's busy you may not be very popular when you do so.

EDIT: Just read the link above, I wasn't aware you had to pay for the privilege. People just used to get on with their bikes when I was commuting to Manchester.

Too late to affect Harleykim, but just to say that on most local services in South Yorkshire it's free to take your bike, but it is subject to space being available. Also a good idea to avoid the rush hour as well.

I once went on the train at rush hour and there was a bike. The passengers didnt complain. It was the conductor (and it was me who had an imprint of the pedal on my leg as i was squashed against it!) I didnt care cos I was only going to Woodhouse from Sheffield
