SL31
I am sure i've brought this up before but it has happened again. I fell down hard on both knees on Saturday and on Sunday the right knee was so painful i could hardly walk, now this knee is ok. However my left knee is giving me shooting pains on the outside of the knee and its also numb from the knee to a good few inches below the knee again on the outside. Has anyone idea what this could be or how i can stop the pain, i cannot call NHS direct as i live in Holland and if i go to the doc's he will just tell me to take paracetamol which is their answer to every ailment! Cheers, Sarah

Cheers, Sarah If it's still numb, sounds like nerve damage. Maybe just trapped a nerve or something? That could cause the pain and numbness. Reckon you should go see the doctor, your knees are fragile, and once they go they can cause a lot of trouble - best to get it sorted early... Had a lot of knee trouble myself! SL31
I intend to start rugby training again next week after two years off and i'm afraid it may be something serious which will stop that, i can book for a doc's appointment but he'll just tell me to take paracetamol and wait 2 weeks. Waxen_Pith
How serious was the fall? Defo get it checked out. I've had cruciate and nerve damage from a bad fall. Don't want to give you the fear, but nothing wrong with going to the quacks!

Don't want to give you the fear, but nothing going wrong with going to the quacks! The fall was pretty hard, but i was slightly drunk at the time, but i must have fell of my bike 3 or 4 times this year and also fell on my knees, they are permanently numb! Yeah i will go but probably wont get an appointment till early next week, but the doc's over here are known for being unsypathetic and fobbing you off. Maybe i could go to casuality? Waxen_Pith
Sounds like your knees have been given a good hammering! Don't see anything wrong with going to casulty though - especially if it's still giving you pain and you're worried about it! And if you're startig rugby training in a few weeks...
