They've all been closed thanks to a certain element. A few years ago there were 5 or 6 and now there is 1. By the way the green is very hard to read Diamondraver
Stoff
Acorn at Burncross is the local I go in the most. Beer's pretty good in there, it's got a nice atmosphere, I met my beloved in there so yeah, the women are awesome! The conversation is ok too - sort of place ya can go in alone and join in at the bar. The barstaff are nice people too and one young lady in there has a cracking botty. Sexist I know. But she does. Apparently.
Rich
I have 2 locals here in Stannington, the Sportsman and the Robin Hood. Cheap beer, and nice looking Landladies... I just wish the Sportsman did a quiz on a Sunday like they used to before it started changing hands every other week... That Piano music's nice and all but Dad knows all the words to the songs they play and starts singing (if you want to call it that )
Deepcarowl
Used to drink in the Pen Nook at Deepcar regularly but the price of beer has got so high hardly anybody goes in now. Called in for a pint yesterday evening, there was 2 people in, 1 of which was leaving. I had 2 pints and left to go to Stocksbridge golf club where it is 60p a pint cheaper! lalaland
I drink in the Prince of Wales just on the corner of Carterknowle Road and Ecclesall Road. We've been going there for about 11 years (since 16 ) so it would seem strange going anywhere else for a drink. Fridays and Saturdays we head down town, but we normally start at the Prince or head their during the week. The staff are friendly enough, it doesn't seem to get too busy, there's never any trouble and only occasionally do you get those annoying types of people that stand at the bar all the time stopping you get a drink. Quiz nights on a Wednesday isn't bad and they've recently clamped down on people cheating on it so you get a fair go at it. The food's very good and I recommend people try that. It's simple pub food, but still nice and not badly priced.
