I only ask as he's a distant relation and I heard he did and would be interested to find out. Cheers
 Share this content via...
Tea44   10 #231 Posted April 20, 2014 Hello everyone, we have recently come into ownership of what appears to be a JD&S silver teapot but it is difficult to pin down it age and value. On the bottom of the pot are the markings  22 A symbol which looks like two three forks in the shape of a cross JD&S followed by what looks like a crown 11842 4  The base is completely flat The lid has a visible hinge and also has what looks like an ivory lid knob    I have some images but am unable to post on this forum  Thank you for any information
 Share this content via...

Tea44 Â Â 10 #235 Posted April 21, 2014 Thank you for putting up the images hillsbro. After closer inspection the mark shows it as JR&S (John Round & Sons) and after investigtion online the markings show it to be silver plated :-( still its a nice piece of history and I had fun researching it :-) thank you Sheffield forum too. linkyork   10 #238 Posted May 4, 2014 Recently obtained the following item with other stuff and am wondering what exactly it is. No idea what the metal is. The item is a cube with each side being around one and a half inches. It has an opening lid. Inside stamped at the bottom is James Dixon & Sons Sheffield plus the number 42 above
 Share this content via...
