devlin
Being a regular Sheffield to Manchester tripper(and back again), I am totally hacked off with it.. Both being relatively large cities wouldn't you think that the Highways agency would sort the complete mess that we curretly have out ???? This morning it took me 2 hours and 40 mins to do less than 70 miles - over the M1 - A628(woodhead) etc..etc.. through to Accrington. Mottram/ Tintwistle have campaigned sucessfully for a By-pass ,however the folk at the Barnsley side of woodhead are now objecting as this will increase traffic in their neck of the woods !!! Ohhhh the frustration--- what is the answer??? responses and suggestion very gratefully recieved, however, the M62 takes me more than 40 miles out of my way, so its not a valid suggestion. thanks
Daven
Why not get the train ?
devlin
Why not get the train ? Cos the job I am doing means that I have to make the most of my time -- so for instance today i went to accrington blackburn Bury Using public transport this kind of coverage would be impossible, or would mean that I would have to go there for 2 days instead of one.... besides which I pay my road tax !!! Daven
Sorry - just that I know that the train service is quite regular and is pretty quick. Might be worth remembering if you have a day in one place !
shirker
Do it on 2 wheels, preferably with an engine!!!!
devlin
In all honesty I would love to get the train but on a 3 monthly cycle it would cost me around 10 days more (as I could only accomodate 1 client per day) I probably ought to try it - but at the moment the dreaded journies to the North west just turn me off travelling in that direction - period

shirker
you're never too old for anything!! as for the rain, yes not pleasant, but the joy of passing countless cars, especially the bottleneck before the motorway makes up for it!!
