TeaFan
I've just been on the madeinsheffield website, and although there are jewellery-makers on there, no-one seems to do rings. Does anyone know of anyone local that does this? Also, a slight side-issue. It seems silver has shot up in price over recent months. Can anyone explain this? I was wondering whether it's because if the world is looking politically a bit unstable, people tend to invest in "safe" stuff like precious metals? Would be interested to know, cos it could make a big difference in price if I bought a ring at the right time. Cheers.
torin8
Yes you are correct political instability (as well as the financial markets) determine how much the content of the ring you purchase. The worse the world is the more people buy precious metals - the more expensive they are.... nice innit!

Unisol
I got mine from Green & Benz on Division St. Although it probably wasn't made in Sheffield, i think they only have 3 stores in the uk so it did kinda feel a little bit more special to use a local company. T.M.D
There is a jewellers in the village of Aston. I think it's called 'Eclipse'. I know the guy makes jewellery. My friend had her wedding ring made there & it was lovely.
pippadoll
Also got mine from G n B on Div. St. One of their makers is in Norwich; don't think any are made locally. Try get details from the one earlier. Ask at the Sheffield Metals Shop, around the corner from Yorkshire Bank, opposite the side of the Town Hall. Surrey street perhaps. GabbleRatcht
My wifes was made by PA on Commonside and had to fit a handmade engagement ring. They slot together. Also, I got a custom seven band Russian wedding ring from them. They are normally three bands. Both great.
