Most play areas have a toddler bit (pirate ship off halifax road, jungle mania near darnall, megacentre bernard road and arean square, they also have a mum and toddler morning!) and the local playgroups also accomodate for them, if you don't know of any ring the childrens information service (or visit their website ) in town they have loads of info on stuff to do and your health visitor should know the local playgroups

Hi there, you could try

1/ Gymboree ( visit the http://www.gymboree.com website, then you can find the tel. number. I know one in Ecclessal Rd in S11). But it's expensive. It's around 6-7£/ class-1 hour a week, and you will have to pay for the whole term (8 weeks), but once you've paid for the term, you can use their Gym's section (1 hour) for children every day

2/You can try some local toddler play groups (I am pretty sure there must be some in your area), normally you'll have to pay 1.5 -2£ for a section and it'll cover your and your toddler's drinks and snacks. activities may include music, singing, craft and so on but you'll have to stay there with you tod. It's often in a church or community hall. You can ring the Children's Information Service for details : 0114 2494939 or 0114 2756699

3/Sure Start activities is in most case free. they provide play different play groups for babies and toddlers for every weekday and ocassionally they organise excurssions and activity with very low price. If you don't live too far away from the area, sure start is brilliant. I don't know where you live so I can't give you the local sure start tel. but there are some of them in different locations of Sheffield. You just need to go too google.co.uk and type in sure start sheffield to find out the sure start which is near to you the most.

Have fun!!!

Faloola, we're opening Jellytots, a parent/carer and child drop in centre in the city centre on 30th October, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Victoria Methodist Misson on CHapel Walk, 1pm - 3pm. No religious affiliation required.

It's on the lower ground floor and it has lift access for those with pushchairs.

We'll be providing tea and coffee too with juice for the kids or bottle warming and changing facilities.

Hope we'll see you there.

Toys, books, jigsaws and crafts on offer!

hi what it the pirate ship and where is it? i have a 2 1/2 year old boy would he like it?

The Pirate Ship is a soft play centre, ball pools and slides and a cafe bit to sit in. My three year old loves it (and has done for at least 18 months), there is also Playmania at Elsecar and another one behind the dog track at Hillsborough. There is also one called Little Tigers I think, somewhere out Chesterfield way ... I haven't been to that one, but have heard it is really good.

Graves Park is really good to see the animals and so is Cannon Hall Farm (you have to pay there, but there is a good adventure playground.
