Laura2005
i was just wondering about the jungle mania on coleford road, darnall. does anyone know what the max age for kids is? thanks Laura
go4it
Not sure, although some kids were 10/11 when I was there. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone over the age of 9. I find the place unsafe and shockingly unsupervised, there are not many places that leave a bouncy castle in the corner unsupervised. The staff are more interested cleaning tables then keeping an eye on kids - we saw a 10 year old climb on top of a wendy house, a little kid could have walked under it at any time! Laura2005
i thought it was the parents responsibilty to look after their children, not the staffs as im sure they wont all have the necessary training. so im sure you would rather watch your kids yourself than some regular joe? if it is unsupervised surely you would want older children there as apposed to younger children who have no sense of danger? so why dont you recommend it for over 9? teddygirl
Yep, it is the parents responsibilty in playareas and it does say so as well.

go4it
right, let me explain myself... Yes, it is the Parents responsibility to supervise their children. However, due to the nature of the equipment I cannot see every single bit of the play facility. The area has a big slide, there were 10/11 year olds (not mine) running UP the slide. Now if a 4 year old had been coming down at the same time there would have been trouble. And who am I to tell off someone else's children, the idea is a recipe for disaster. There's also a under 5s area where again a 10 year old was sat on top of a wendy house. If that collapses there would have been trouble again. The facility needs staff in to keep order, but they are busy cleaning tables. The bouncy castle is the main issue - when that was bought it will have safety recommendations - i.e. max 8 children. The bouncy castle is left in a corner on it own, unbeknown to the staff 50 children could get on that. Plus there's not enough safety mats around the side, hence I saw a kid fall off the side and bang their head. At the end of the day it is a soft play ground, anyone 9 or 10+ will probably love it for 10 mins then get bored, hence why they will try and climb up slides. Laura2005
aaah right thank you! that does not sound good, i hate parents who do not supervise their kids just because they are lazy! and your right you have no authority to shout at someone else kids, that itself open a whole can of worms. the megacentre (megakids) near the flats has designated areas and the kids seem to adhere to that fairly well, maybe its because it has more facilities aimed at the older child? chickywiggle
there is a post about it when they were advertising for staff. they are poorly managed. they staff are mostly very young. they specifically said they didn't mind if you were unqualified. but on the other hand you were supposed to be supervising the children even tho it is the parents responsibility. I would not take children there out of principle.
