djscottk
Hi all! I have recently moved into a house with a Cable Broadband connection in the main bedroom. The Main PC for the house is connected up in this bedroom. However Im up in the attic, and we have bought a wireless router and a wireless card/adapter too.. Everything was great for the first week. no connection problems at all, however during this last week, everytime I connect on to LimeWire etc, the whole connection is crashing, and I need to go downstairs and reset the modem on the main computer to make mine work again up in the attic... Can anyone tell me why? and if i can fix it, how would be the best way? Thanks x
Ghozer
Could be interference from somewhere... or it could be the router?? Is it a linksys by any chance?
sallonoroff
Is it just when you're using P2P? Some routers and/or ISPs block access to P2P networks... +

sallonoroff
would a wired connection be better than wireless? Yes. It'd be more reliable.... though perhaps not as aesthetically pleasing.

Meaks
Leave it switched off for a good 10 minutes dear. Also see if there is a firmware update for the router. I know I was supposed to be coming over to have a butchers but have been a bit rubbish, don't know if it sounds like I could fix it anyway.
