supply and fit slate hearth- advice needed

Hiya,

I'm having a gas stove fitted soon but need a hearth fitted beforehand.

We want a solid slate hearth and it'll need to be 100cm x 60cm but I'd need advice about how thick it needs to be to be safe with the stove on top.
