DaBouncer
I have purchased a new laptop with an S-Video port. I want to play straight into my TV from my laptop but S-Video doesn't transfer sound. Does anyone know how I'd do this? I have this laptop if it helps: HP DV8387EA AMD TURION 64 MOBILE ML-40 Link to Currys Link to Ciao
me-and-pippo
Hi DaBouncer, have a look and see if you have any audio in sockets on your T.V. If not you will have to connect into the TV through a scart socket.Do you have a VCR or DVD recorder connected to the TV? Sorry link to specs: not displayed when i replied. KJ_VENOM
according to the currys specs your laptop doesnt have a tv out the only way i know you can do this is to buy a vga to tv adapter http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=45227&criteria=vga%20to%20tv&doy=11m9 something like this connect your vga on the back of the laptop into this then out of this into your tv
DaBouncer
Yeah I just noticed that too. So even though my laptop has an S-Video port will it not allow the sending of video but only the recieving of video signal? I would have thought it would work both ways? Have you looked hear, but noticed your card is 200M IGP may be a difference. You can get intouch with ATI and ask? http://www.ati.com/products/radeonxpress200m/specs.html
upinwath
Easy peasy. Take the s vid out and the audio from the line out and feed it into a scart adaptor available in all sort of places including some pound shops. (or maybe even the video camera/game input on the front of your TV if it has one so you don't even need the adaptor) If your TV has only composite video in you will need a svhs to comp adaptor. I have some in stock along with all the other things you need. I'm in sheff tomorrow at about 12 noon if you want me just PM. Cost about £20 max
