Alex C.
So, knowing that the pubs and bars all shut early on a Sunday (flairs kicks out at 1am, don't think theres anywhere open later), last night we thought we'd get some drink and then go back to someones house. Unfortunately, being a Sunday, there seems to be nowhere open - all the supermarkets are shut, Spar on Division Street was open, but the off license section was closed. Anyone know anywhere selling alcohol past 1am-ish?

Yes head down to the leadmill, there's a spare or something across the road, that sells beers till the next morning
4ny1ne
Some spars do, theres one on woodseats that is 24-7. Plus you've got tescos and that. There all 24-
Bilge
The 24/7 Tescos (like other big supermarkets) aren't actually open 24 hrs on Sundays - it's the Sunday trading restrictions by amount of floorspace law thingy. So any shop selling booze on a Sun night, other than an offy, is likely to be a small shop (Spar/Jacksons etc). Are we sure that the out-of-town 24 hr Spars sell alcohol after the pubs shut on Sun nights (eg Ecclesall Rd)? Never tried myself but it'd be handy to know. Sarah1982
Most of the big 24 hours tescos shut at 4pm on Sundays, and i think the metro in town shuts about 11pm, Spars are your best bet. Though the one on division street doesnt sell drink late, but the one near the leadmill does.
DOA1982
a bit off topic I know.. but does anyone else think that in this world of 24 hour everything the sunday trading laws really should be abolished now. I work shifts and I find it really annoying that everything shuts at 4.00 or 5.00 on sunday!!
Rich
Yeah, even Meadowhall shuts at 5 on Sundays
