Speed Dates
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Phones 4 U are absolute tosh? I bought a phone from the Meadowhall branch back in June from them, I took it back to the shop a week later because the signal quality was poor. I'm still getting a monthly bill from 3 and now I'm being reported to a debt collectors because Phones 4 U still haven't cancelled my contract which eventually affect my credit rating. Just wondered if anyone else has received terrible customer service too.
Andy C
Phones for you seem to be a high pressure sales environment. They are great to you when you are buying, but when it comes to aftersales support and complaints they aren't interested.
Alex C.
Make sure if you do buy a contract from them, take it back the next day saying you want to return it, they'll contact 'disconnections' and chances are you'll walk out with a cheque for £100 on its way... Lee14
I've used Phones 4 U for about 5 years now and I've never had a problem with them, infact I'd say they're probably one of the most helpful places I've ever shopped at. Maybe you just managed to get a couple of dodgy staff members? I couple of years back I was really desperate for this new model phone that had only just been released. They only had one left in the Yorkshire branches, in Leeds. This one sales assistant drove in his own car from Huddersfield just to pick it up for me the same day. I was very chuffed with their service! I think I'm right in saying the guys at Phones 4 U don't get a commision on handset sales either, or if they do, it's around a quid.... slh73
The thing with phones for you, Ive found, is if you just want to buy a handset without taking out a contract, they dont want to know. Probably because the salespeople get a better commision on contracts than anything else. I went in to try and buy a new phone a while back, told them I just wanted the handset sim free, as I already had a sim card and just wanted to swap it over. The bloke immediatley tried pushing a contract on me, and when I told him I didnt want one, just carried on and wouldnt let it go. In the end I just walked out while he was still rabbiting on, and bought it from Carphone Warehouse instead.
Blade1983
all their contracts are through "Singlepoint" who are the worst show of s**T i've ever had the miss-pleasure of dealing with!
tony2311
all phones 4 u staff are on comission, if not why will they all so pushy to sell you a phone with contract if no comiision is involve? i know vodaphone use to be £10 for every new contact
upinwath
I had a singlepoint contract for a few years (same bunch of gits) and never had value for money but did get loads of lies and rip offs. I didn't want to loose the number as it was for business but no way was i going to sign a new contract. Even when the law changed forcing them to allow me to take the number away they made it so hard it wasn't worth the bother. A bunch of hard selling ratbags that are suposed to have got so much better since vodafone took them over - or maybe not looking at this thread. It's funny because someone on here recently told me that contracts were really good and cheap. I think I'll stick to pay as you go, I don't want debt collectors on my a**
scarby
I hate that place! Only popped in to have a quick look at the new models, hoping to get one on PAYG - Pffft! As soon I walked in, a bloke rushes up to me saying "Do you need any help at all sir?" Me - "Nah, just looking thanks" Him - "Can I interest you in a contract? just have a sit down, it'll only take 2 minutes" Me - Nah, just looking at the moment, gonna get one on PAYG. Him - "But PAYG arent' as good as a contract, if you'd just sit down and let me explain some of the details and offers..." Me - GONE- Talk about sales pressure!
