Nope, sorry. :(

Why don't they upgrade to a current OS instead?

Yes it will... I've done this loads of time. None have required a HD reformat:confused:

Though you do need a valid M$ key.

I simply booted from a floppy, navigated to the CD and ran the set up program in the root dir, which then offered an "Install" or "Update" option.

I've also done this with a 98-2k update. No re-format required. All programs installed were available too.

Well I guess I can stand corrected. Although its true there is no official upgrade path.

Still no excuse for running obsolete and unsupported software though... :P

thats a win98se key that you'll need, you might find one on ebay from a scrapped system that will do the job ..not sure about how legal that is but it sounds fairly legal, as long as it's only in use on one system I can't see M$ objecting.

the win98 key thats being used on the current system won't work though
