GraZ
If anyone else round batemoor knows, the past couple of day's theirs been some air rifles or maybe shotgun's firing for several hours a day. Is their some competiton going off in the fields? Or just chav's shooting bus's again?
Bartfarst
It's one or the other - the discharge sound of an air rifle is barely audible from more than 30 yards away, while a 12-bore makes a deafening bang. Surely you can't be unsure which it could be.

SV500
you coudn't hear mine if you were stood next to me i had a problem sometime back with constant bangs that i thoaght was a shotty being used on some public fields not far from where i live,i went to have a look several times but never saw anything, then one day all (pardon the pun)..fired up...i went round and found a bloke hammering in some metal fence posts at the back of his garden, i didn't say anything as i felt like a plonker but if in doulbt give the plod a call,if it is a competition or something legal then fair enough, but anything shady .... better safe than sorry, JJ.. cgksheff
Farmers sometimes use bird scarers that set off a bang at intervals. They actually ignite propane gas, but sound just like a shotgun.
