donuticus
One of the greatest sportsmen but unfortunately one of the worst sporting attitudes going. Shame really but ill always remember getting up at 4 in the morning to watch him and Damon HIll race at Adelaide. Schumacher rammed hill when he new his car was damaged, causing HIll to retire and not be able to win the championship. He did a similar thing to Jacques Villeneuve at Jerez a couple of seasons later, and then you have the deliberate blocking of the track at Monaco this year. Salster!
I think he will be sorely missed by many, including those that didnt see eye to eye with him. He is the greatest F1 driver of our time even with a couple of blemishes on his career. Good luck to him in the future, Im sure we'll see him round a pit lane or 2 in the future

He is the greatest F1 driver of our time even with a couple of blemishes on his career. Ayrton Senna would've left him standing.

Tricky
Ayrton Senna would've left him standing. He couldn't and didn't leave him standing - the main contributing factor in his death.
seeyoujimmy
Aparantley his role within Ferrari will be announced by the end of the season so it looks like he is sticking around for a bit. I think he's is an absolutley fantastic driver and he will be missed but at least he'll bow out a great and not fade out as a has been.
basshedz2
Hardly the acts of a "great sportsman", more a cheating little ....... I won't:thumbsup:. ... Ayrton Senna would've left him standing. I think you're missing the fact that Senna was equally as ruthless and uncompromising. Taking Prost off in 1990 (Suzuka IIRC) was a premeditated act to win the WDC that year - Senna had even said that was what he was going to do before the race! Senna also had many other moments of controversy - he also took Mansell off in '92 (Adelaide?). And Tricky is right - Senna died trying to keep pace with Schumacher. Its unfortunate because i was looking forward to several years of wheel to wheel racing between them. I think of all the drivers around at the same time as Schumacher - Senna was the only one who had anywhere near Schumacher's talent. I think Schumacher will be remembered for his achievements more than any moments of controversy - he certainly will be by me anyway. Him and Senna are both up there as the best drivers i have ever seen.
donuticus
Hardly the acts of a "great sporstman", more a cheating little ....... If you read the ENTIRE sentance instead of only partially quoting me you would see that I said "One of the greatest sportsmen, but one of the worst sporting attitudes".
