Scariest horror film

reyt then,

what's the scariest horror film you've ever watched?

i've discussed this a few times with me mates and i can narrow it down to The Shining, Exorcist and Don't Look Now (that was my choice)

so any ideas?

after all, it's all about what you personally find scary. . . . .

28 Days Later scared me s***less! I don't like Zombie stuff especially when they move as quick as they do in that film! Its the only film i've ever seen at the pictures when i actually didn't want to sit through it all as it was so horrible, it is a good film though and i've watched it since :)

both good!

halloween is scary, especially the bits in daylight,

like when jamie lee curtis sees michael myers out of the classroom window, then she looks again and he's gone.

an american werewolf in london is also a good one, the bit in the tube station is pretty good.

i still think the scariest bit of this film though, is jenny agutter's huge bush.

but that's just my opinion.

any more?

Rooty,

have you noticed any subliminal messages in the film 28 days later?

i only noticed one but i imagine there must be loads more.

near the end when they've found that place with the horses, an aeroplane flies over and they decide to write "HELLO" in the field with clothes.

as we see the main bloke waking up we can see this in the background, but they've not quite finished so it just says "HELL"

clever that, and a bit scary.

i agree with you about the running zombies as well, specially them that puke blood.

No i haven't, cool if it has though i like stuff like that :) i'll have a look on http://www.imdb.com and see if on the messageboards anyones posted something about it.

I think i vaguely recall the 'Hell' bit you're talking about, but its quite awhile since i watched the film and i aint in a hurry to watch it again and i could never watch it alone... :P

i know what you mean!!

there's been a couple of film over the years that i wouldn't wanna watch again on my own.

did you ever see Ghostwatch?

the BBC "reality" halloween programme in 1992 where they went to a "real" haunted house?

i abslolutey sh*t my dacks! i was only nine!!

i bought it on dvd last year and still struggle to watch it now, even though i know it's not real!

No not seen it. i saw Nightmare on Elm Street when i was only a kid (mum didn't know) and it scared me for years too, i've watched that since though and now think its rubbish, same goes for Childs Play, that film is so poor, but it used to scare me so bad years ago!

when i was a young 'un, my mum always said she's never watch hellraiser again as she found it so disturbing, so obviously i wanted to see it for years!

but when i eventually did i found it a bit disappointing, apart from the bit at the biginning when the light comes throught the tiles on the wall and that weird music.

pretty good that.
