Personally speaking I'll be up for a good 10 or so mile hike around the hills on Saturday or Sunday.

Quite agree. The last two walks I've been on in the peaks have been either long or included a sharp ascent but on both of them the pace of walking was nothing like a route march. There were far too many nice views or things to photograph rather than be stomping across the moors like a para.
