Sidla
Some of you may remember that about 3 weeks ago I was stopped by a policeman for speeding, and I started a thread on here about it, which was the subject of immence controversy. Anyway, as I said, it is now over 3 weeks since this happened and I still haven't heard anything. The policeman said when he stopped me that it would be 2-3 weeks before I hear anything, so now it's over that does this mean I'm off the hook? Cyclone
I would think that the original guesses about the policeman just trying to scare and intimidate you were correct. You weren't cautioned, you weren'y given a notice of intended prosecution and you haven't had one through the post, so I think you're probably in the clear. redrobbo
Could it be that they're just waiting for a vacancy on the next transportation ship to the penal colonies before they throw the book at you though?
artisan
Did he take yor details in the book and say something like 'you will be repoeted for..' If he did, then he has done you, and you will probably hear something. If you werent asked to produce your documents etc. then he probably had his quota and you have been lucky. I wouldnt relax yet though.

Twiglet
I wouldnt relax yet though. I'd agree with this. A Notice of Intended Prosecution must be sent to you within 14 days in the post, BUT what the police officer said to you at the time may have constituted a verbal NIP and you may be waiting on a summons which can take a lot longer. alchresearch
Yeah, just mentioning that you may have got off the hook will ensure by Sod's Law that the summons appears on your doormat on Monday morning!
