purdyamos   10 #13 Posted September 11, 2006 I was a little confused at first - I thought 'did they walk round a card shop?' Then I found them! Doesn't that electricity/phone substation thing look wonderful? So much character. Glad the weather was kind to you all again. I hope you can come to the cemetery walk next Sunday. Strix   11 #15 Posted September 11, 2006 Nice photo's Kris  The nature reserve at woodhouse is reclaimed from a sewage treatment works, which is what the ponds and that building are  Since we've moved up here, some of the biggest blots on the landscape seem to be disappearing - we used to have a fantasic view of Orgreave Slag , but that's been dug away , the disused tip is currently being geotextiled and converted to a nature reserve, the playing fields and sports facilities are all being upgraded as part of the retirement village project, the station has been regenerated, the shops all seem to be thriving better..... I'm glad we moved here  I'm sure we can plot a route round beighton in the near future
 Share this content via...
