The Big Sheffield Graffiti Thread #2

Recommended Posts

Some people might disagree with me here, but here goes. A few of the graffiti artists go on to make galleries of their work after they perfected their style on the street.

You complain about the paintings on an otherwise boring railway bridge, but as soon as it's hung up in a wine bar or is put in a coffee table book, you all appreciate it. Wake up. How else would these artists get recognised so they can do galleries etc?

It's the way most of the interesting and original artists are now sourced from.

yes nekro your rite, the councill dont give us gallery space or legal walls because they iether dont like to be associated with it or because it is to risky to deal with in case it tarnishes there rep. then the media steel our designs and put them in there buildings deacore, and leaflets and councill community prodject books ect,

eg.did topman in meadowhall ask us when they plasterd the front of there shop with photos of our graff.......no.

so if you want to be street...accept all the street can offer not just the bits you think you have the right to pick and choose.
