Sangria - Where can I get it from?

Recommended Posts

Ok guys... today I just got back from Barcelona where I have been quite happily drinking very cheap Sangria (69 cents a litre from the local supermarket!)...!

I just checked online and I can only find a 75cl bottle at ASDA for like £2.76 or something.. any ideas where else might sell it and if I could get it as cheaply as it is in Spain?! I think this is just wishful thinking on my park LOL!

Here is a recipe. The important part i have found it to leave it over night in the fridge. Oh and i like to put some rum in as well.

Ingredients

3 1/4 cups ( 26 fl. oz) dry red wine

1 tablespoon sugar

Juice of 1 large orange

Juice of 1 large lemon

1 large orange, sliced thin crosswise

1 large lemon, sliced thin crosswise

2 medium apples, peeled, pitted and cut into chunks

1 cup (8 fl. oz) club soda

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients except for the club soda in a large punch bowl or serving pitcher, mixing well. Refrigerate overnight. Inmediately before serving, mix in the club soda for added fizz. Ladle into cups with ice cubes.

I couldn't believe the prices in Barcelona. I was told how expensive it would be before I went (it was my first time abroad)... but the whole visit didn't cost that much really & we were self catering. The Sangria was an added bonus - was very happy with that!!!! Would like to try to make my own... at least there's no yeast involved..! I only tried making beer once, never again Haha.. it tasted foul! Haha!

Cheers

heres anothe quick way, adjust to taste of couse.

half a tin of fruit salad in a jug. (1ltr is jug best) half fill the jug with ice.

pour in a good measure of red wine, not too cheap a make though. add a bit more. pour in a decent measure of Brandy, pour in the same amount of cointreau. (about a cup and a half to start with) give it a good mix. now fill up the jug with lemonade. (ageain decent stuff is better. TA da your ready for nice cool sangria..

Give 10 minutes and start again as you'll have drunk it all lol
