stumathers
My sister has just phoned me to say that birleymoor road at frechville has been closed by police. She couldnt tell what for though. Massive police presence apparently. Maybe an accident/ robbery? Its around the shops area and petrol station.

gemma86
Still don't know what's happened, but according to Ceefax, it's Occupation Lane that's shut off, from the top at Birley Moor Road to Weakland Crescent. Also, a 120 has just come up Dyke Vale Road, so the police at Frecheville must be redirecting traffic - the 120 will have come down Lindley Lane and up here... boboskins
There's been a accident at the pelican crossing on Birley Moor Road top of Occupation Lane. Drove past on the way home from work and saw a black Corsa which had hit some poor young lad of about 15/16 years. Didn't look good poor lad was getting CPR from the paramedics in the bus stop layby. Really shook me up just driving past as his mothers cries were heartbreaking. I sincerly hope that he's alright and my thoughts and prayers are with the family at this terrible time.
