hoba
I'm curious about whether landlords will allow this, as I am looking to move out of my current place and into somewhere else with my friend. The only problem is I am a graduate and he is returning to uni to be a student again. I know he won't be paying council tax so am wondering if he will have to stick to student properties or not? Anyone out there able to give me a definite answer? thanks
joeyannie
most landlords probably couldnt care less...you as the non student will have to pay 75% of the council tax for the property...whether your mate chips in to help out is between the 2 of you! Jennie80
You will still have to pay council tax but other than that there should be no reason why you can't do it. You can also get a discount on council tax if you're the only person paying it.
Kthebean
I live with my fella, he is a student and Im not. You can live in student or non student places it is entirely up to the landlord. Most non-student places will probably take you if you have references. Good luck
AgentLesbos
I have lived in shared houses for the past 7 years both as a student and as a professional and with one exception they have always been mixed student and nonstudent - depends on the landlord but shouldn't be a problem.
