Ms Macbeth
i am sick of all the mess around here and graffiti all the flats been boarded up etc etc its getting beyond a joke and something needs to be done about it:o Any suggestions? What should be done - volunteers to clean off the graffiti? Leave the empty flats unboarded and watch them have everything saleable stripped out of them? What are your ideas about what should be done? Have you contacted the council/Sheffield Homes about your concerns? There are issues across Sheffield where local residents want to see improvements. In this area, there is a residents' association who regularly contact council officers and work with councillors to try and bring improvements. There are also lots of people who complain about things, but never go to a meeting or offer any positive suggestions for improvement.
CorkerSWFC
Indeed i was sat in the council for 3 hours today waiting for the council officer in charge to come and speak to me after being told to fill a complaints form in which i flatley refused,in the last 5 days a maisonette next to me has been burnt, trashed, repeatedly had the boards ripped off it, i woke up this morning to a right eyesore, we have had no arial for 3 weeks now due to a fire on the shoots what some one set which in the process put all the lights out on our block,my 3 year old son cut his hand on a piece of glass what had been left there by the kind people who had smashed the flat up,it didnt stop bleeding for an hour,4 cop cars were on the front last night chasing young uns waking my kids up then i saw another young un getting chased today then an hour later he was playing football on the front, it doesnt matter what you do no meetings or complaints will be able to "quick fix" this part of gleadless it needs some attention and fast peeps are just doing what they want. Possibly corkerswfc deserves rather more sympathy than has been shown so far by posters on this thread: the situation sounds terrible. Has the council officer visited yet?
