taxman   12 #1 Posted September 7, 2006 OK after the successful Walkers Group meet in the pub last night we have decided on a walk for this friday.  We have chosen one that starts in Edale so that those people without a car can get the train to the meeting point  This is the walk - http://walkingbritain.co.uk/m/walk_b1.php?id=1159  it is described as a moderate walk, 7.5 miles with a 1520 feet ascent  Meet 11am in the main car park in Edale. Train from Sheffield departs 10.14am and gets to Edale at 10.47  So far we have interest from Me, Kentboy, SHsheff, Carcrash, Willman, Strix and Blip  If anyone else wants to join please feel free to post here or PM
 Share this content via...
willman   10 #2 Posted September 7, 2006 i'll be there. if anyone needs a lift (killamarsh/mosborough/woodhouse area)let me know.  how long should it take?
 Share this content via...
SHsheff   10 #3 Posted September 7, 2006 May I suggest that eveyone takes some kind of a packed lunch/snack with them? I reckon after 1500 feet I'll be ready for a sit-down and a bite to eat!  Re the time, probably 5-6 hours, allowing time for view-admiring and lunch breaks. Gadgetgirl   10 #11 Posted September 7, 2006 Can I just say, I was up there on Tuesday and it was very wet underfoot, I doubt the better weather will have improved conditions much so spare socks / trousers would be a good idea.
