Mrs Hyde
Hiya, always fancied one myself, but the ground rent is too much, ok buying one, you can get them at a reasonable price, but someone we knew wanted to sell thier static, but the owner of the site said that they had to sell to him, at a knockdown price, if they wanted to sell privatley then he would tow it off the site and leave it on the side of the road, as it was his land. He was forcing them to sell to him cheaply, also make sure that your van has a lot of years left in it, cause some sites dont let you on after a certain age, sorry to sound so negative, but i think theres a lot of probs if you dont know what you're doing, take some good advice off someone who's got one love Suerrr

yummyyumyum
its true that a lot of sites wont allow a van of more than certain years to be pitched on the site. you have a lot of little extras you have to pay for such as towing and connection of your van to the site this can range between a few hundred up to 1000+ then obviously there is the annual cost of ground rent which can be 1000s and doesnt always include water, electric etc, when you buy a van you have to paty to transfer the owner details this is at least a couple of hundred, im not sure of all costs these are only some of what my bro has told me about , he bought a van last year, although the initial costs can seem high, he is now making a profit so it is now paying for itself, but as any other "business" this is not guaranteed
garryn
Cost of van Insurance ground rent tends to be £1600 to £2800 per year depending on site Utilities I've known siting fees to be a couple of grand Generally vans are allowed on sites up to about 18years old. If you want to shift to another site the site owner will probably charge a fortune to disconnect and take to a pickup area. You've then got transport and connection fees to worry about
