English Glory Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Like how all the main parties colours in the poll are correct but the BNPs is... pink. Is that to show their feminine side?
angle20 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 the BNPs is... pink. A delicate shade of mauve I'd say.
redrobbo Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I've voted in this poll. I'll happily admit that I've voted Labour I'll not state my many reasons why I've voted Labour in this poll.....and thus spare everyone a party political broadcast
donuticus Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 I think plekhanov may have taken my surprise that the BNP was polling so highly as a sign I was disappointed or disillusioned. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Democracy is a a good thing and I want everyone to take the the effort to go to the polling station. If someone wants to vote BNP, then good luck to them as long as the party is legal and that is what they truly believe then good luck to them. If someone wants to go and spoil their paper then fine at least it shows a willingness to take part in the democratic process. I am very surprised at how well the Tory party is doing in the Socialist Republic of Sheffield though. heheh
artisan Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I am very surprised at how well the Tory party is doing in the Socialist Republic of Sheffield though. heheh You cannot believe how sickening it was to live and work through those years of Thatcherism. Every election we hoped for a turn in the tide, but they fell for the lies told by the tabloids owned by Murdoch. Year after year we saw our great industries reduced to rubble, and our rural comunities devastated. I am suprised your parents have not told you of the devastation caused to our country in those years. But then again some people fell for the lies they were told about this new world.
artisan Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Yes, It's a bit like now then. Bad form old chap to change another coves posts.
plekhanov Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Quite true but this little poll would suggest otherwise, time for change maybe? This poll says a lot about the political leanings of the inhabitants of Sheffield Forum who happened to click on this thread, it says next to nothing about what will happen at the next general election, if you knew the first thing about how opinion polling actually works you’d understand that. You know plekhanov the majority of people that I talk to in real life when asked who would they vote for in an election guess what the answer is? Strange for such a small and insignificant party going nowhere, wouldn't you say? And apart form a small group of National Front campaigners I once got into an argument with I’ve never spoken to a single person who said they were going to vote fascist in any election so I guess my completely unrepresentative anecdotal experience cancels yours out.
bagger Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 A bit worrying that the BNP have scored so highly:loopy: Got to keep them out.
happyhippy Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Why not join the party concerned, and put yourself forward for election in your constituency ? Firstly because I don't want to be an MP! And secondly, it costs £500 to put up a deposit to stand in a Parliamentary election, which most of the fringe parties can't afford to put up except where they think there will be enough votes save their deposit, which is why my party of choice doesn't field candidates in my constituency. Fielding candidates in all constituencies at the last General Election would have cost £323,000 in deposits alone for each party.
