Godzilla
I've been referred for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and just wanted to know if anyone has had this and what it entails? What expectations have they given you about the therapy? What (if it's not too personal) is CBT designed to address in your particular circumstances? Lotti
Thanks PinkLady, Godzilla - due to an incident a few months ago I feel very insecure with people when alone with them and apparently this is supposed to 'reprogramme' my thinking to stop me feeling this way around certain people and to help discontinue flashbacks that I get. evildrneil
CBT is the treatment of choice for depression, anxiety and PTSD and has pretty good cure/help rates. The main problems with it are it's actually quite difficult to reprogram your thoughts (especially if it's an ongoing problem!) and the fact that it has around a 15 month waiting list on the NHS
