sothall
I mean, they dont grow up with 200 gold chains round their neck, a burberry hat balanced on their head and a brick in their hand, you never soo anyone under, say, 10 dressed like that. Is chavism the new puberty? Instead of waking up one morning and finding that looking at that girl at school is giving you funny twitches in funny places, you find that drinking white lightning on a park in the rain seems strangely appealing? Do you think that anyone is actually sick and twisted enough to consciously decide to become a chav?

Longcol
They get it from their parents - like the blokes who I meet in the pub who in the same converstion can come out with things like; "Workings a game for mugs, I won £XX in the bookies today". "What, you earn £30,000 a year, what's your trick" - like hard work and experience count for nowt.
Ockeroid
Chav's are different from the other big teenaged groups of the moment (aka. Emos, Goths, etc). In that, being a chav is a lifestyle thing. Say you've got a mum and dad who are chavs, their kids are gonna grow up to be chavs, etc. Then there are people who (for unknown reasons) choose to be one. But the majority are "born" into it. It's sad really, as they don't really know any other way.

stars_gazing
What I find hilarious about the whole thing is that these "chavs" are supposed to be rebellious, non-conformists who do what they want, say what they want etc. etc. ... However, they all dress the same! The ladies must spend an age gluing their hair to their foreheads and the guys must spend an age finding (stealing) the latest gear to model to their friends - hardly rebellious, if you ask me!
