Cheers There's some ancient Roman mosaics near the harbour, if you're interested in that, they're the floors of the Roman buildings that were there in....... well in Roman times. It's half a day's visit. A walk round the harbour's OK Coral Bay has a nice beach. The market's good for the souvenirs. You'll see a few chippie restaurants described as "the best fish and chips on the island".

Mick3330
Protaros is the best place. Go by car and spend the day sun bathing on the beach. That's near Aya Nappa. But, if you go into Llimasol, take your microphone, and be prepared to go karaoke central.
tingle
Hello There's nothing wrong with Paphos at all, I went with JBee in March. We hired a car and drove into the mountains and stopped and found a cute little taverna and had fresh trout for our dinner. It was lovely to get out of the touristy bit up into the little villages where the real Cypriots live and see all the oranges growing on trees and the Greek-type houses. Having said that, we had a great time in Paphos Centre as well. There's some lovely restaurants and walks along the harbour and the centre has got plenty of nightlife to keep you entertained. We found bars in which we could have a quiet drink and watch the world go by, bars where we could dance all night and lovely restaurants. Onyl warning I would give you is don't try to drive along the Lady's Mile beach or similar. We did and the map must have been wrong as we ended up almost stuck in a bog with the hire car and no civilisation in sight. Only way out was a raod that was so bumpy that we both wished we'd worn sports bras. It's funny looking back now but it was a bit touch and go for a bit and on the map, it looks like a lovely, coastal road. x
Allen
Oooo, mountains sound better. Shall do the car hire thing and cause trouble on the roads. You definately need a car in Cyprus. If all you intend to do is stay in paphos, you might as well save your money and go to Skeggy. Theres loads to see and do. The Trudoss moutains is a must. There is snow at the top even in summer. Plenty of small villages to visit...with gift shops etc. Paphos and Limassol both have a reasonable night life with bars and nightclubs. Aiyanappa is for the young set..18/30's. Have a great time.
