Titian Posted September 4, 2006 Share Posted September 4, 2006 Please remember that: a) The employee should have a current enhanced CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau) and needs provide evidence of this. b) Always check references, Preferably if using the telephone look up the number rather than just accepting the number they have given you. c) Try and ask the Children's Information Service for recommendations. They can be found Here 11 Leopold Street, Sheffield S1 2GY, 0114 275 6699 d) Qualified childminders will have attended some training and have evidence of this. e) It always makes sense to recruit someone who is approved. Childminders are now registered with OfSTED, details can be found here about the process. It is always advisable to recruit someone who fits the above criteria rather than leave it to chance. Please consider the above as a priority as someone who really wants to work with children will have done the above, or will be aiming to do so.
